On September 6th, despite a global pandemic and some of the worst wildfires the state has seen, Erica and Alan lived their wedding day to the fullest at The Pines At Genesee in Golden, Colorado.
I knew nothing would stop this couple from having a great time. For their engagement session we met up at Piney River Ranch in Vail, and Alan forgot all of his shirts. Erica proceeded to ask random people if she could borrow a shirt and eventually the boat doc worker said yes. She just won’t let obstacles stand in her way!
After a fun few days at a local Airbnb where everyone got ready, Erica and Alan made their way down the mountain and proceeded to have a gorgeous fall afternoon wedding ceremony in the woods.
During the ceremony I enjoyed hearing the officiant tell all about how Erica and Alan were friends in high school, and how Alan chased Erica to college where they began their relationship. His steadfastness paid off and they’ve been together for eight years.
After the ceremony Erica and Alan and their guests had a fun filled afternoon inside the ballroom of The Pines At Genesee where they served wine from their current state of Oregon.
Following some very smokey (but stunning!) sunset photos, we finished the evening at Erica’s grandparent’s house. Due to being highly vulnerable to Covid-19, they were unable to attend the wedding. I thought it very sweet and classy of Alan and Erica to make their way to their house for an appearance. It says a lot about the kind of people Erica and Alan are.
Thank you Erica for the opportunity to photograph your wedding. It was a really fun and emotion filled day that I feel honored to have been a part of. I’m excited to continue working on the rest of your photographs!
